Appearance:
Katie is short, and very underweight from not enough healthy food. She is pretty though, even if she has been running around in the streets. Her hair is a luscious blond that curves naturally over her face and she had the usual blond hair and blue eyes package. Her body is bony around the shoulders and neck area. He has a rathe innocent and young expression on her face, maybe it is the gentle curve of the cheek bone that makes if so. It makes her seem a few ages below her actual one (which is still quite young). She also has white skin, fairly pale.
Her clothing various as to what she can find and afford. She has a pair of dirty-looking jeans, and a baggy plain sweatshirt, along with one pair of shorts and a faded tank-top that often contrasts her pretty face.

Personality:
On the outside she looks rather ratty. She wears baggy clothes, and has a distant look in her eyes. She never really focuses on one thing, when you talk to Katie she sort of looks anywhere but at your face. She doesn't have a very nice vocabulary and talks with city slang, though she is not as bad as some.
She doesn't trust people very well, considering she steals from them, and her aunt isn't the most loving type. She is always a bit suspicious of people when she talks to them. She can be impulsive and quickly jump to an action, and when she does this, she doesn't back down. Her judgement can be weak in this response, as she never had the mother to teach her yes and no in the same way others have had throughout their entire lives. She had to teach herself.
However, who Katie really is surprises many who get to know her. She honestly is quite fragile and sensitive. She gets spooked easily, and jumps at the smallest things. She's afraid of many adults and will wince even if they raise their hand above her head, assuming they are about to attack. She can be gentle and caring at the same time towards those who treat her well. Katie tries to hide it though by putting on a 'tougher than I am' character which usually fails after holding a conversation for a while. She really just wants someone to be able to depend on, and feel safe, but so far no such luck. She feels on her own, and that her Aunt is her responsibility not the other way around.

History:
(This is a bit of a sob story but I don't know XD)
Katie was six when her parents died in a car-crash. Old enough too understand pain and feel sadness. It was a simple accident, a merge on the road, bad timing, smashed into a truck. Katie had been locked into a car-seat with a seatbelt, she was the only one who lived. Both patents gone, zip. Katie was rushed to the hospital, unconscious for the most part. It wasn't until she recovered did she fully except the fact she would never see her parents again. How fast a young child can grow up when they have to. There were two options. Option one, live in a home. An orphanage almost, where she would live until she was adopted or old enough to start a life. Option two, live with the aunt in Chicago. Both were unfavorable decisions. Her aunt had little money and was not the most stable of parents. She had a drinking issue and lived in a run down apartment on the outskirts of Chicago, but just enough to say she lived there. Six year old Katie didn't really have a say in the situation, and ended up living with her aunt. Supernatural creatures were far from Katie's mind when she went to the city. Of coarse supernatural creatures had existed for many years and were always a threat, but where Katie was coming from they weren't do much a problem. Little did she understand the risks in Chicago and the corruption forming. In fact she knew very little of the supernatural world, they were simply a whisper on the wind.
It's a shock Katie was able to keep such a straight head after loosing her parents and then living with a distant aunt, but Katie managed. She quickly learned to leave the room if her Aunt was drinking, for if she stayed her Aunt would yell and scream. She often had to sneak into the city to find food, and it was around ten when Katie learned of stealing. When somebody wasn't looking all she had to do was slip a couple of items into her bag and run. Then she learned about the truce and the secret world. The supenaturals, the werewolves, and the vampires. Yet, it was hard to grasp for she had never met one before. Though a child's mind is always open to new ideas and she believed that they existed freely, and it started to make her nervous. Everytime she stole an apple who knew who was watching her, tracking her? Though it wasn't like her aunt was paying for her food. She went to school, honestly when she could or felt like it. It was not important to her in the same way as other proper kids. She had much more important matters such as living.
She lived like this for for a couple years, until she turned 14. By then Katie was independent. She still looked young and innocent in the face, her eyes have a bit of distance in them, but she knew her city. She knew the best places to grab food, to avoid contact with people and to hide. She became city rough, her Aunt now ill from her alcoholism. Katie covered up her real emotions, ignoring them and tried her best to focus on the situation in front of her. Even at a young age, she sometimes would take a swig from her Aunt's drinks to cover up the hurt.
It all changed one night on a full moon. Katie's Aunt was creating a riot, yelling at Katie about how worthless she was and went as far as to kick Katie out of the house for the night. Everyone knew the full moon was a dangerous time, it was when the werewolves were most active. Though Katie had always been a bit off from the warnings and signs the city posted, and fled from the appartment complex. The streets were darker, shades pulled and doors locked. The night didn't bother her though, she found it calming and safe, though something about tonight made her skin prickle. Katie moved along the Chicago streets, the huge skyscrapers looming over her. A whoosh passed by her. Just a breeze on the air, or that is what she thought as she jammed her hands into her pocket and walked away. The only people that seemed out were the ones getting into their cars or houses, the streets were always busy and bustling. She didn't usually have walking space. Another fast breeze brushed by her, and suddenly the air was being knocked from her chest and her feet lifted off the ground as she was thrown backwards into the middle of an alleyway. She had little time to think or let along scream as pain exploded over her shoulder. It was like wildfire, spreading down her chest and body. Hot sickly liquid soaked through her sweater. The world seemed to hazy, the pain made it impossible to move. As she looked up, her hands clasped tightly over the wound, her eyes met the eyes of a wolf, a snarling, foaming, angry wolf with huge round eyes, and sharp, bloody fangs. An ear-splitting howl called from its mouth before it sprinted away leaving young Katie alone. She is fifteen when this happened. With the last of her strength Kaite hauled herself to the corner alleyway, the smell of dumpster and blood filling her nose. Katie removed her hand from the wound, blood dripping like a faucet through her fingers. Katie had been bitten, now she is one of them. A Changed. At the moment the truce hadn't even cross her mind, the fact that it had been broken, or she had seen a full-blown werewolf. All she knew now that something big happened. Really big.

Roleplay Example:
(I pulled this from another site with my character Carter ^.^ sorry if it makes little sense)
Carter had started to fall asleep. He was just on the brink of sleep, and his thoughts kept turning into nightmares. He pulled his legs up under his chin, his cheek cut tickling his knees. Everything was so wrong, he was trapped in the middle of a freak circus, a real freak circus. In his sleep, he could feel a tear slide down his check. Maybe he should embarrassed but he didn't. How would he know what embarrassment was? He was 12 when he was captured, but funny how 12 years can be so quickly wiped away in only a few years. He didn't remember what it was like to live, and what did that leave? A hardened shell with a broken inside. Like a hold opening an Easter egg, and finding all the candy crushed in the inside. It was sadness, and then the wonderful anger. Carter didn't realize how much primal instinct one could have. How much hatred, anger, and revenge one could carry.
He knew discipline only from the scientists. That was don't move or we will have to split you open. However, outside of that he had no control. He never had killed, killed a human. Sometimes, the scientists would force him to fight other big cats or animals. So much blood. That memory was just a sheet of red. When he lost control, it was something he couldn't fight. He just needed to get it off of him, like an annoying bug, and what he didn't realize is that he would do whatever it would take to satisfy that need. Even kill, but what had Circo Phatasia see in him? A monster like him? Yuzki told him of other hybrids like him, and even crazier things than a prehistoric animal. That made his stomach cringe, he didn't know if he could face others. He'd be just another nobody. It wasn't like his life before this one was that great. The other kids just wanted to steal, or fight. He was considered a stupid mommy's boy.
Carter looked up and swore angrily as the sound boarded by, his sensitive ears flailing madly. He grasped them and stood up. Carter you have a visiter The words blared through the small room. His inner instincts told him it was night time, though Carter couldn't sleep. Who would visit at this time of night? Though he could feel it before the metal doors screeched open. It was the one they called the Ringmaster. He was first there to witness Carter attacks. Now that Carter thought about, he was there when Carter was being rescued during the scientists. Carter felt fear swell up in his chest, he knew this man contained much power. He stood up and backed up against the wall, his class tapping against the back lightly.
"Yeah come in." He said, trying to stand strong. He shook the hair from his peirceing eyes, awaiting the magical man.
