This would only be understood of the other was in their human form; but Alcaeus was a bit too into his work to look or focus and tell. WORD COUNT: 419. For when it was quiet and peaceful in the city, which was rather rare, she dared to venture to where her heart took her. There were hunters to be observed, vampires to be informed, her own 'kind' to be consulted. Each required a minimum of words, the less the better. Words were human, she didn't want human. It was quite obvious that the circumstances surrounding her birth and childhood were caused by humans, by the truce that was no better than leaving their kind chained to heavy stakes driven into the ground. Once that was dealt with, she would be free of guilt on returning to her childhood dream. She had no love for humans, of either gender. Wolves however, they were her true kindred.
A voice interrupted her blissful dream-like watching of a slender male, glistening silver fur reflecting from the river as he lowered his head to drink. A lone male for the most part, he seemed to keep a calm tone among the alpha's of other packs she had observed. Perhaps in some future world, they could start their own pack together, like she dreamed of. But for the meantime, she settled for admiring him in his beauty as a wild animal. Much as she wanted to have the chance to meet him properly, as a wolf of course, the time of change would not allow for it. It was in those three nights that she was at her most vulnerable, and her strongest.
Returning attention to the voice that beckoned, she stood up from her position on the soft grasses, and made her way towards it. A male by the sounds of it, at the distance he had sensed her presence, no doubt a werewolf. One quite experience, perhaps an immortal. How quaint, another to be glared at for wanting her wilder side to come forth. From a distance, the oddly polygonal shape of what looked like paper indicated probable artwork. More human culture. Nevertheless she did not like being one to offend others. "Greetings, old one. I see the human concept of using fine hairs to create images with the soils of the earth takes your interest." Alcaeus asked. Most people caught on after he started chatting with them about the good ol' days, those days revolving around when Greece was large and in charge. Probably his demeanor right now. It was a bit of body language. “Yeah, painting is a hoot. Though I can't seem to quite get how this is supposed to look.” Alcaeus said, biting his lower lip a bit and glaring at the sun. “Hold that thought.” Like that he was back in the bush, hiding his body from the girl as he stripped and transformed. After a good enough moment to figure out what he was looking for, Alcaeus went back to his two leg form. “Sorry about that. I am trying to paint this picture from a wolf's point of view. For the most part it isn't too hard, what with me spending at least three nights a month as one. But certain sites are little harder.” Alcaeus said, dabbing a bit more orange onto the canvas. “What about you? You like painting?” he asked, turning around and facing her for the first time. She was a young girl. Though it was impossible to tell if she was really that young or just stopped aging at that time. Maybe she wasn't even a lycan, maybe she was just a changeling. That would explain a bit. “So what are you up to all alone out here? Hunting?” Alcaeus was pretty sure that most the wolves came out here to catch some grub. Inside the city it was mainly just domesticated animals and squirrels. Not a large amount of choice. You could go to the grocery store and just buy raw meat, that tended to work. Or that fancy french restaurant but they were pretty steeply priced. Here was the beast place to find food. Deer was the tastiest to him. “I suggest the deer. Nothing like a doe to fill up the stomach, am I right?” It was quite possible that he was indeed wrong. WORD COUNT: 362. His query into the determination of his age made her curious. An eyebrow raised as he proceeded to take on his wolf form some distance away in privacy, returning soon enough to comment about painting. "I'm afraid the closest I choose to allow myself to human culture is reading, and even then I sorely regret becoming involved with it." Moreso due to the fact that she couldn't determine if Jay's constant verbal advances had a genuine offer behind them, or he had a rather simple, and annoying purpose behind them. Either way, he was the main reason she liked to keep her distance from the city whenever possible.
"A future wolf queen should know at a glance the age, status and territorial claim of a male. Though, I take it that the first only applies in your case." Two bold statements, but then he hardly seemed like one of her type, wolves cursed with the human form. He seemed more like the type of humans gifted with their form. The inquiry into her intentions caused hesitation. She lived for the forests, was she not allowed to wander them without interference and interrogation? Her head shook discreetly. He had been very patient and soft spoken, her hostile thoughts were not warranted.
Deer, she didn't think that they roamed the forests that commonly. Even so, she had no intention to steal food from the rightful claims to the territory. It would hardly create the impression she wanted to present, what male in their right mind would choose a female who willingly roamed into the areas of others to snatch food, no doubt a foolish one. The display of strength and determination that would result she didn't expect to be worth the cost.
