It's like forgetting the words to your favorite song. You can't believe it; you were always singing along.((I'm going to put a little synopsis here for those who did not read Katie's history. Katie is 15 and she has been living in Chicago since she was about 6, but only understood the Truce until a few years ago. The history leaves off with Katie being kicked out of the house when her Aunt becomes angry. It is the night of the full-moon a dangerous time, and she is attacked suddenly by a werewolf, the truce broken. The werewolf leaves Katie, and she is currently injured and alone and very scared. So anyone can join, werewolf/vampire/slayers. You can plot with me later if any of you want to be the werewolf who bit her. For now it's just NPC. If you did read her history than I'm changing the setting to a park. If you want a slight time skip. I can work that too :-))~~~~~~~~ Everything had happened so fast. Katie had been walking down the paved sidewalk, her head bent, her hands jammed in he pockets. The full-moon added an extra light in Chicago. Katie had come home, and found her Aunt drinking again. She tried desperately to calm her down, but her Aunt had just yelled at her ad went as far as to throw Katie out of the house. Sighing, Katie followed her Aunt's orders and left the house. Now she was on her own tonight, she would just have to find a place to sleep, and the Park seemed very inviting.
The trees slowly came into view, and the huge black gate that separated people from the the nature within. It was only then that Katie felt a breeze brush by her shoulder, a breeze that shouldn't be happening on the summer evening. She just rubbed it off though, as stuck he hands back into her ripped up jean's pockets.
Katie didn't wear much, or even look that well. Her blond hair fanned out along her young face, she wore a white, now somewhat gray tank-top, ripped up jeans that did not come ripped up, and old sneakers. Had she been in a different situation Katie might have been a very pretty young lady.
Katie's blue eyes narrowed as she looked up at the black fence, and locked her lips nervously. The park was closed tonight, but that didn't stop her. With a jump she grasped the bars and forced her feet along the bars, slowly inching herself up the wall. She didn't stop, not until she was at the top and she made her way down. Katie's feet hit the ground, leaves crinkling under her weight. That honestly wasn't too hard.
Bam! Something ripped into her side. She didn't even have time to scream as her feet lifted off the ground and she was thrown into the air. She landed with a panicked thud on the ground. Something sharp pierced her shoulder and pain erupted down her side. Her scream was caught in her throat, her eyes going wide. Her tabletop suddenly turned dark with blood, and Katie's hands grasped her shoulder with her hands which became hot with blood. Tears welled in her eyes and she tried to scramble back, and as she did something her eyes stopped in place. She was facing her attacker, a large wolf. Wolves shouldn't be that big. It's eye angrily glared back at her, it's teeth mashed together angrily, blood dripping from its furry snout. Katie stopped breathing, but the wolf took off into the night, a howl erupting through the cool air.
Katie felt too weak to move. Her back pressed up against the park tree, silent tears fell down her cheek. Her hands were still clamped tightly over her wound. Something had bit her, that wolf had bitten her. A werewolf had bitten her... [/size] Notes: Open to all :-) Tagged: None yet Words: I think it was 400 something ^.^

While Katie was being thrown out into the cold night, a very different scene was playing out not so far away. An ambulance was parked just outside of a tall apartment block in the east side. Todd Barclay yanked the door open, clambered in and hit the button to turn off the swirling siren lights. His free hand contained a cup of second-rate coffee that had been palmed off to him as some form of apology. He’d just run up five flights of stairs with a medical kit to take care of a suspected heart attack to find that the old man had actually been suffering from the horror of… indigestion.
The man hadn’t even needed a gentle stroll into hospital, let alone blue-lighting it along the freeway.
It was probably morally wrong to wish a heart attack on someone, but Todd had been hoping for it to be something actually worth dealing with. It was a chilly night despite it only being early autumn; still, after that little runaround, he needed the cool air. Wiping the back of his wrist against his forehead, Todd walked across the car park with a sigh. At this rate he’d be willing to put up with any idiot with an injury. There was a full moon: things were meant to be exciting tonight. Then again, since the truce, werewolf attacks were rare. Changelings lost control but could usually be headed off; born lycans were supposed to know better.
He’d arrived at his ambulance’s side, fluorescent first aid bag still slung over one shoulder, when he glanced across the empty road to the park at the other side. Through the wrought-iron bars of the fence surrounding the place he thought he could see someone, a figure huddled up and dimly lit by a streetlamp a little way down the road. Todd paused, squinting to try and get a better look. Homeless person? They were huddled up—maybe about to go down from hypothermia. Or maybe something else. He thought he caught a glimpse of red.
Todd jogged across the road, coming right up to the fence—though he was still on the other side of it to her. He whistled slightly before speaking. “Hey, kid. Can you hear me? Are you bleeding?” From here, it was obvious that she was. He slipped the bag from his shoulder, wondering whether to passes bandages through or throw the whole bag over. Maybe he’d be able to make the climb himself, but she wouldn’t in her state.

It's like forgetting the words to your favorite song. You can't believe it; you were always singing along.Everything just seemed to slow down further, already the poison from the bite was seeping permanently into her blood. It was twisting the DNA strands into something new. She blinked slowly, her heart rate slowing down, way down. The night seemed twenty times folder right now, the sounds of cars moving seemed to increase, the rustling of the trees like sticks snapping over and over again. Katie dared to remove her hand from the wound and stared down with her blue eyes a bit stupidly at the blood trickling through her pale fingers. Her blonde hair was poofed up and in a wreck now, she hadn't bothered to tie it up in a pony-tail. Something had bit her, took a chunk and left. Those eyes had pierced her forever, something cold and dark and full of hatred! The eyes of a wolf, she couldn't believe and in her state she couldn't. Shock flooded her system, her thinking a bit off now.
A voice floated slowly into her ear-range. Someone was calling to her, no they had to escape. They had to leave before that thing came back. She raised a hand and tried to make him go away, looking like she was waving. Bits of her blood flying through the air in the most unattractive way. "It'll come back. Got to leave." She rasped, her voice dry. Her eyes were wide with panic, and she scooted away further like a scared puppy in the rain. Wanting to come closer, but scared of the bigger world... Notes: OH MA GWAD IM SORRY THIS POST IS SO LACKING I'LL MAKE IT UP IN THE NEXT ONE Words: A pathetic 256 X__X

It was a full moon night—and Todd might have been just a little old mortal muddling his way through life, but he knew what that meant. He was an EMT in truce-bound Chicago; he’d had to deal with lycan-related injuries and the like before, both accidental and on purpose. He could also recognize someone that might be spiralling into shock at a glance, and dismissed her warnings quickly. It was a dangerous job he had; hell, he might as well do something useful tonight. He watched her shuffling away from him, obviously freaked out, and tried to think of how to calm her down. Talking people down was all part of the EMT package, but generally he could get to them and treat them. This one might still run off, and god knew what would happen to her if she slipped away and went untreated.
“Don’t look so worried. I’m not gonna hurt you. See? Genuine paramedic.” He flicked at the badge on his chest, attached to his EMT greens uniform. “Let me take a look at that, hm? Keep your hand on the cut. Put down some pressure.” Cut, bite, same difference. He was trying to sound reassuring, but being quite brisk about it because he wanted to get a closer look at that injury, see if it was what he thought it was. With one deft throw he sent the padded first aid kit sailing over the top of the fence, it landing springily a few feet away from the girl. Then he got to climbing the fence, which was hardly an elegant set of manoeuvres but a possible one. “Anywhere else… hurt?”
He wasn’t sure it mattered. If she’d been bitten by a werewolf like he suspected, her body’s new advanced healing would soon kick in… though it might be painful the first time.

Katie was no anxiously looking around with worried blue-gray eye. Her matted blond hair feel everywhere, now knotted and unkempt. She felt different, and she didn't like it. Everything seemed a hundred times sharper. The leaves falling sounded like like someone snapping great logs near by and the sound of the gate rattling made Katie wince and want to curl up more.
Her body seemed to fold around the tree as she desperately tried to melt into it. The man who was talking, he'd head swiveled around but her eyes were far away by now, as he climbed over, her head spinning with the sounds of the gate moving and the bag smashing into the ground. When he approached her, all of Katie's natural defensives went up and she peered over the man's shoulder as if looking for something. She was either looking to see if the werewolf had come back or if she could make an escape. It was like an urge, and instinct said for her to just run. The glint of the light reflected sharply off of Katie's blue eyes making her shake her head once, she probably looked stupid right now.
However she nodded as he motioned to the bite which had caused quite a blood leakage. Her hand was nastily coated in her blood. Her hand was still in place of the wound, but ever so carefully she removed her fingers. Most of her tank-top had been ruined, and torn, because one thing was clear. Something had bit her, aiming to take a hunk of meat out of her. Rows of fresh teeth-marks created a neat circle around her shoulder. "Is it gone?" Katie whispered quite frightened, and it was clear on her face. She didn't quite realize but the wound had stopped blessing and already it seemed the skin was threading new layers...
