I dreamed the world...[/size]

He cracked a grin Todd’s way. “Suuuure you are, pasty- boy.” He shook his head, in total disbelief that Todd was as secure as he claimed. The man was a horrible liar, after all. Though the focus was quick to flick from Todd to Jay again, and the small lycan was taken aback, a hand leaping to his chest, right over where his heart was hidden deep inside him despite its common location on his sleeve. “I am not afraid of vegetables, O.K.? I just don’t like them, that’s all.” He rolled his blue eyes before jabbing a finger up at his friend. “And I, unlike you, take my Flintstone vitamins very seriously thank you very much. If I’m so unhealthy then tell me why the orange ones are my favorite, huh? The color of carrots and… po…tatos.” He nodded with high eyebrows. “Yeah, yeah, you make fun but I have Barny Stone all up in this and he promotes healthy teeth and bones.” He snapped his teeth one, to prove their strength, then was done with the counter- argument with no mention of lycan blood or super healing abilities. Of course he never seemed ill. Unless he caught some new airborne silver disease, he never would.
It caused him to laugh uncomfortably, the thought of Todd figuring out that he was never seen ill. It was odd, it really was, and if Todd had any sense he would start to put things together. So Jay knew he had to divert his friend, and fast. “That’s cus’ when I get sick I go home to my mommy.” He said openly, not afraid of the Pandora’s box of jibes and taunts that he had just opened. Anything was better than having Todd figure out he was a lycan and spending his life wondering if Jay wanted to eat him. No. Just, no. “I need her when I get sick. She makes me soup.” They used that story when he was in school, too. He was allowed to take a week off here and there just to seem more human. Sad as it was, apart from Todd, Jay’s mother was his best friend.
“Oh yes but it wasn’t my kidney, now was it?” Really he was impressed with Todd and all his abilities. It was impressive… for a mortal. Not that he would ever, ever let Todd see how proud he was. Jay sometimes found himself seeing Todd as a pet or a project of sorts. He was proud of his little mortal, how good he was compared to the others, how tolerable he would be if the Scooby Doo Fan Club let him live. Yes, there would be much convincing to do in the future. That, or a very simple bit of biting. “Ah.” Todd pulled him out of his thoughts for at least a moment. “Thank you for admitting my super- machoness.”
“But seriously man, no guarnetees.”
